Hey, All!
Sorry for the lack of posting. Just haven't had much to post about lately. Things are going pretty slowly. I did get to make the kids a really quick bento today so I'll be sharing that. Not much else to report so I won't bore you with the uneventful.

Fresher, Easier, and Healthier Bentos in our Easylunchboxes
Hi there!
Back into the bento mood! But if you remember, last week I did a bento a day in honor of Easter. So lots of bunnies, and lots for cuteness, AND lots and LOTS of sugar. I figured the kids could use a nice, fresh, and cleansing lunch to help us all get back into a healthier mindset.

More Easter Bentos!
Hey, y'all!
Looks like it's an Easter Egg Hunt set of lunches for the kiddos! We're getting closer to Easter and I'm sooooo excited but getting a little stressed. It might rain. How do you spend Easter indoors? Lemme know!
This was my lunch. Thought I deserved a little pretty since I'd been working so hard all week.
Hope you were inspired!

Day 4 of Bento-A-Day Easter Edition: Bunny Onigiri!!!
Still keeping up with the Plan! I took this idea from one of my previous bentos! I ran out of bread so no sammies. But that doesn't stop this momma! I rarely get to do much detail work for the kids' bentos so I tend to stick with sandwiches and quick meals. But I had an itch to get artistic with this one.

Bento-A-Day Easter Edition: Day 3 PLUS BentoUSA Easter Contest Link!
Hi, friends!
I'm still keeping up with my Bento-a-day plan! Woohoo! Had to do a little extra thinking on these considering I was doing the designing on the fly. M's was by request and I had to use my ingenuity to get it done. But we were all pleased with the outcome. Considering that most of my Easter themed bentos have been bunny-esque in nature, I went with chicks this time.

Bento-a-Day Easter Edition: Day 1 and 2
Hi There!
Doing a few things at once here: Updating the blog, doing my nails, filling in my planner, watching Fish Hooks... don't judge me. Anyway, I have decided to try and do a bento a day for the kids in honor of Easter. This is kind of an event for me because I don't always get to prepare a bento everyday for them. But I'm really going to just get off my butt and do this. So far, the week is going pretty well.

I'd been seeing a lot of Bunny Butts all over Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook so I can't take credit for this idea. But I did try my hand at it. I like how it turned out and my IG friends seemed to enjoy it as well. Bubba actually ate this sandwich, which is a victory for me because he's only just started like sandwiches.

Easylunchboxes Gone Fishing!
Hey y'all!
So it was so nice and warm today! I'm loving Spring so far. Well I figured it was the perfect day to take the kids out on their FIRST fishing trip. Well, we'd taken Daughter fishing with us, but she was too little to actually do much more than just sit in the stroller. Anyway, a friend of ours (Uncly Ty we'll call him) let us go out on his pond and cast a few lines. He's always up for fishing. I figured, why not pack a lunch for the kids and make a little day of it. So here's what we took to the pond.

The kids have got little fishy jelly sammies with candy eyes. The picks in the mini marshmallows are supposed to represent fishing poles. I couldn't find any pull apart twizzlers to make the fishing line. Will have to stock up and hide them. They go fast in this house. Haha!

A Froggy Snack Sammie
Hi, All!
Dinner was made late tonight (chicken pot pie) so I decided to give M a little snack while Bubba was napping. She asked for a Froggy jelly sandwich. So here's what we got. Strawberry jelly CuteZcute pretty frog sandwich. Addes a little broccoli and some light canned peaches for some balance. She ate her sandwich in record time. Peaches were demolished too. Only broccoli was left, which is odd because she usually eats that too. But I'm not complaining. M is eating all her sandwiches with little coaxing!!! She also topped off some chicken that I had shredded for her earlier but couldn't finish. So I'm a pretty happy mommy right now.

Character Themed Bento
Hi, Everyone!
Here I am, updating again. I decided to categorize some of my lunches so that they were a bit more specific. I hope these give you some ideas for your own lunches. Again, I've gone with a Slideshow approach as it just makes it easier and takes up less space. Less scrolling for us all, you know.

My Neighbor Totoro Bento
So I'm not even going to try and put these up in a Slideshow. I just love this bento so much and I want you to know a little more about it. If you can't tell, it's a My Neighbor Totoro themed bento. I'm not just a big fan of all things Studio Ghibli, but this film holds a very special place in my heart. I grew up watching it back when Fox held the dubbing rights to it. I can't stand the Fanning version. Not even sorry to say that. But I dedicated this bento to my family back home. Every part of it holds some significance to the movie.
If you've watched the movie, you can see that this bento box is strikingly similar to the box that Mei uses. Her sister makes her lunch in a tiny red bento. I couldn't find a single tier that was similar but I found a use for the second tier, which is apparent from the pictures.

These Little Piggies
K, so these, I have to say, were inspired by a new, and very creative friend of mine on Instagram. She doesn't blog just yet, but I do adore seeing the meals she posts on her profile! My kids like them too!
T actually picked this theme out from seeing her pics and was very excited when I asked him if he'd like a lunch like that. M appreciated his choice as well! This is another jam sandwich bento, btw.
I used the CuteZcute cutter set for M's, but used a circular cookie cutter for T's; as he's still eating smaller bites (not necessarily eating less, however). This is where I derived inspiration from my friend. The piggy snouts and ears were done with hot dog just like hers' were.
Underneath the pink silicone piggy cup in M's box is a surprise of gummy and marshmallow flowers. T has the same surprise in the pink plastic piggy.
I'm loving the hat accessories from BentoUSA! And I noticed that the little ball caps have Ts on them! It's a completely unintended but serendipitous phenomenon! I'm happy with it! Lol!
I admit, this is quite a lot of food for the kids. I do usually fix more than less because I want them to try things at least once. I'm lucky that my kids love veggies so I don't worry much about that. I want them to learn to explore different flavors and to find good as exciting as I do! An adventure on a plate, right? Or in a box...
Anyhow... Hope you're hungry now and, as always, inspired! Be posting soon!

Today's Lunch: Chicken Fajita Wrap
I told you, you'd see more posts of my Easylunchboxes! Haha!
Here, we've got a JalapeƱo cheddar tortilla that I laid out, spread with Greek yogurt, and sprinkled with a little salt and pepper. Then I proceeded to evenly layer some Mexican blend shredded cheese over the yogurt. Over that, I neatly arranged fresh spinach leaves so uh at they covered the cheese completely.
And right down the center, I lined up my chicken fajitas. They're out a package and fully cooked (sorry for those of you who only go organic and stuff). I'm sure this is amazing with homemade as well. I do make homemade fajitas BTW. That's for another post.
Anyway, after the chicken, it's fold, tuck, fold, then slice. I think I'll elaborate on that in another post as well.... Haha! Oh the posts to be had!
So with that you can see some snap peas, a baby bell, some blueberries under a couple of strawberries. Under the wrap is a paper cupcake liner that I spread out for added color. It also works to absorb grease if there is any.
This was a very yummy lunch and frankly my son seemed a wee bit jealous. He and his sister pretty much had a simplified version of this PLUS and added mini cinnamon roll! Go figure. Daughter came and stole my blueberries anyway... Le sigh.
Well hope you were inspired! Be posting soon!

Fairly Recent Bento
I don't just bento for going out. I usually just prepare a cute lunch for my kids at home for being home. My daughter gets so excited when she sees me at work, and often sneakily steals some stray morsel that I've left unwatched for 3 seconds. I don't mind such attention as it builds her anticipation for her food and she's usually so excited by the time I serve her, that she's shouting, "Woohoo! Food! Thank you! Thank you, Mommy!" I'll beg for this kind of adulation in about 10 years so I bask in it Haha!
Anyway so here we are. Our lunches. They're packed in Easylunchboxes containers. These particular boxes were purchased from All things for sale.com. They can also be bought directly from the company website, Easylunchboxes.com or from Amazon. I have to say that they are my favorite bento containers right now. Very handy. Other posts will show my love for them.
Anyhoo, hope you get some inspiration! At least, I hope you're hungry Haha! Be posting soon!
